- 2 cups Nutella hazelnut spread
- 1/2 cup salted butter softened
- 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips or semi-sweet
- 1 tablespoon salted butter softened (for topping)
In a stand mixer, beat Nutella and softened butter together until smooth and creamy.
Spoon powdered sugar into a measuring cup (don’t pack it in), then add to the bowl with the vanilla extract. Mix on medium speed until fully combined—mixture will be thick but smooth.
Line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper. Press the fudge mixture evenly into the pan.
Slowly melt chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl: start with 30 seconds, stir, then continue in 15–20 second bursts. Once almost melted, stir in the softened tablespoon of butter. Microwave an additional 10 seconds if needed until smooth.
Pour melted chocolate over the fudge layer and spread evenly.
Refrigerate for 10 minutes. While the chocolate is still slightly soft, lift the fudge from the pan and cut into bars.
Place bars on a baking sheet and return to the fridge for another 10 minutes to set completely.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge (or freeze for later!).
- Melting Tip: If your microwave has a melt setting, use the “chocolate” option and enter 8 oz. Stir every 20–30 seconds to avoid burning.
- Butter Tip: Add softened butter when chocolate is about 90% melted—this helps it blend in smoothly.
- Cutting Tip: Slice the fudge while the topping is still slightly soft for clean cuts. If it’s fully hardened, dip your knife in hot water to help glide through.
